Privacy Policy: Discord
Effective date: 11 October 2026
This policy covers two things:
- The Discord connection in Truly Hub, which a streamer turns on for their own Discord
account (Part A).
- The Truly bot, which a streamer adds to their Discord server, and which affects the
people in that server (Part B).
It adds to our main Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
Truly Hub and the Truly bot are made by TrulyStupid (“we”, “us”). Truly Hub runs on your own computer.
The Truly bot runs on our servers.
Part A: The Discord connection in Truly Hub
2. What it accesses
When you connect Discord (Truly Hub → Settings → Connections → Discord), you allow these Discord
permissions:
identify: your Discord user ID, username, display name and avatar, so the Hub can show
which account is connected.
rpc and rpc.voice.read: read-only access, through the Discord app on your
computer, to the voice channel you're in: who's there, and whether each person is speaking, muted or
deafened. This powers features such as a “who's talking” overlay.
It doesn't read your messages, your servers' content, your friends list or your email, and it never
records voice.
3. Where that information goes
- It stays on your computer. Voice presence comes from the Discord app over a local
connection and is used only on your computer. It is not sent to our servers.
- Sign-in tokens from Discord are stored on your computer, under your Truly profile.
4. How long it's kept
Until you disconnect (Settings → Connections → Discord → Disconnect) or sign out of your Truly profile.
You can also remove access at any time from Discord's
Authorized Apps
page.
5. Age
Truly Hub, including this connection, is for people aged 18 or over.
Part B: The Truly bot
6. Who is responsible
A streamer adds the Truly bot to their server to run their community: points and levels, roles, go-live
posts and stream recaps. We run the bot for them. The streamer decides how it's used in their server, and
we handle your information on their behalf.
7. What the bot reads
- Who posted a message, and in which server, so members earn points for chatting. It
never reads what your messages say.
- Who is in a voice channel, so members earn points for time spent there. It never
listens to or records voice.
- The server's members and roles, so it can give level roles.
8. What the bot stores
On our servers, for each server it's in:
- your Discord user ID, username and display name, if you use one of its commands
- your points and level in that server
- if you use
/link: the Twitch or TikTok username you link and, if you prove it with a code in
the streamer's chat, that account's ID
- if you use
/birthday: the day and month, and the year only if you choose to give it
- the server's settings, such as which channel gets posts and which roles to give
9. Who sees it
- Leaderboards, ranks and recaps are posted in the server, so its members see names, levels and points,
and the stream's top viewers and gifters.
- The streamer can see your linked account and birthday in their Power Stream app. If they choose, your
birthday can be celebrated on their stream.
- We don't sell your information or share it with anyone else, apart from the service providers that host
the bot.
10. How long it's kept
Until the streamer disconnects the server in Power Stream, or deletes their Truly account. Link codes
expire after 10 minutes.
11. Your choices
- You don't have to use any of the bot's commands.
- Leave out your birth year if you'd rather not share it. It's optional.
- To have your birthday, link or points removed, ask the streamer, or email
support@trulystupid.dev and we'll remove what we hold about you
in that server.
- You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or complain to your data protection authority
(in the UK, the ICO).
12. Age
People in a streamer's server may be under 18. The bot stores only what's listed above and never asks for
more.
13. Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above.
